WYO PLAY: Creative Aging

  • WYO Performing Arts & Education Center 42 N Main St Sheridan, WY 82801 (map)

Dave Munsick will use his years of experience in writing songs and stories to help participants find ways to discover and share their writing talents. Class members will create poetry, stories, and song lyrics under Dave's guidance. Those who wish may get assistance in the creation of melodies that fit their words. Participants will focus on the writing style of their choice and create a product to share with a select audience on the last day of class.

Participants will learn to activate and recognize the creative process, explore techniques that assist in finding, creating, and sharing stories, and more!

No prior experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to play!

This program follows the Lifetime Arts Model for people 60 and older, which features skill-building classes that last eight weeks.

Performing Arts classes previously offered: Storytelling (Grace Cannon-Wallace); Dance (Stephanie Koltiska); Voice (Amanda Allyn); Poetry (Tyler Julian); Theater Direction (Aaron Odom); Acting (Lauren Graffin-Estrada).

WYO PLAY Creative Aging also supports Young at Heart Players productions of the annual melodrama directed by Pat Tomsovic and performed at the Hub on Smith.

This project was supported in part by the Wyoming Arts Council, which receives support from the State of Wyoming and the National Endowment for the Arts.
